Invoices and other income

Doing account work for a business, a school run contract or man-and-van jobs? Make a proper invoice, send it from your phone, and keep track of who has paid.

Add your details once

Your invoices show your contact details and where to pay you. Set these up first:

  1. Open Your details

Tap the gear icon (top right) to open Settings. The first box is Your details.

  2. Fill in your contact and bank details

Add your Address, Phone, Email and Bank details on invoices (for example your account name, sort code and account number). Tap Save details.

These details are only printed on invoices you choose to share.

Create an invoice

  1. Open Invoices

Tap Income at the bottom, then Invoices and other at the top. Tap New invoice.

  2. Fill it in

    BoxWhat to put in it
CustomerThe person or business you're billing.
Customer addressTheir address, if you have it.
DescriptionWhat the work was, for example "Airport transfers, 1 to 14 September".
    DateThe date of the invoice.
DueWhen they should pay by. It's set to 30 days for you.
    AmountThe total to pay.
PaymentLeave as Not paid yet, or choose Paid and the date if they've already paid.

Tap Save. Meter Max numbers your invoices for you: INV-0001, INV-0002 and so on.

Send it to your customer

Tap the invoice in the Every invoice list, then tap Share invoice. Choose email, WhatsApp or another app, and send it. Your customer can open it in any web browser and print it.

When the money arrives, tap the invoice and tap Mark paid. The Unpaid total at the top goes down, so you can always see who still owes you.

Made a mistake on an invoice? Tap it, then Edit. If it shouldn't exist at all, tap Void and give a reason.

Other business income

For business money that isn't takings or an invoice, like a one-off payment or a grant, tap Other income on the same screen. Fill in where it came from, a description, the date and the amount, then save.
